With the announcement that the Omaha Theater Ballet was closing its doors after ten years of professional dance at the Rose Theater, our city and region learned it was soon to be left with a major cultural void.

At the same time, a talented group of performing artists who call Omaha their home were facing the difficult decision: where do we go from here?

So we decided to do what dancers do best: set our eyes on a goal and work hard until we achieve it. And so Ballet Nebraska was born. We plan to pick up where the Omaha Theater Ballet left off, providing exciting performances of the highest quality. We want to share with you the grace and precision of classical ballet, the power and intrigue of contemporary dance, the emotional connection found in a human story, and the thrill of live theater.

We will continue to provide unique educational experiences for children through our extensive community outreach programs. We also have plans in the works to provide free outdoor performances this coming summer, which will be a wonderful opportunity for fans and newcomers alike to enjoy the ballet in the open air.
